We got up at 6am, grabbed a quick hotel breakfast, and headed out for a morning ride while the temperature was still reasonable.

The ride started with the first part of our originally-planned route to North Adams. We rode a little ways north miles north of Troy to Waterford, then turned east into the Taconics. Once we hit the high point, we turned around and backtracked to Troy.

This gave us about 20 miles of riding, and about half of the originally-planned climbing. And, the descent back down to the Hudson River was nice. The humidity was off-the-charts for the entire ride. My gloves and my bar tape were both drenched by the end of the ride. Absolutely gross. We got back to our hotel before the weather got unbearable. It was probably about 75F at the beginning of our short ride, and about 85F by the end.
